Louise Boyle

Originally from North Dakota, Louise Boyle lived most of her life in Tompkins County. A graduate of Vassar College in 1931, Boyle attended the New York Photography Institute and spent a lifetime as a professional photographer in Ithaca. Many of her photographs are carefully crafted portrait shots, although she also produced a rich body of photographs from the 1930s of Southern tenant farmers and Pennsylvania coal miners.
