Pie Baking Contest
Saturday, September 11th, 2010
Contest Categories:
1. Best Fruit Pie
2. Most Unique Pie
3. 16 years and under
General Contest Guidelines:
- Pie must be entered in the person’s name who baked it.
- Bring
your pie to the pie‐contest booth or to the History Center information
booth, located at the pie‐baking contest booth in the Fisherman’s
Wharf area of the Rhiner Festival, to take place on Inlet Island,
old Taughannock Blvd, on Saturday, Sept 11th between 10am and noon.
- Pies must be submitted with the exhibitor’s name, address, phone
number and recipe, along with acknowledgement that the entered pies
become the property of the Pie Festival and that you do not get
your pie or pie pan back.
- One pie per category may be submitted
- Judging will take place at
12:30pm. Fabulous prizes for the best pies!
Judges:
Peggy Haine, local luminary
Renée Senne, Culinary School Chef at Wegman’s
Criteria for judging:
- Overall appearance
- Crust
- Taste
- The Health Department says: NO PIES THAT REQUIRE REFRIGERATION
(i.e. dairy or cream pies)
- All pies submitted may be sold at the cake wheel or contest site.
