The Colorful Characters of Ithaca’s Past
Living History ‘ghost walks’
Guided Walking Tours
of
Downtown Ithaca
Join
us as we walk along what once were woodland trails, rutted cart-tracks,
and cobbled streets, mindful of the rutting deer, trundling wagons,
and speeding surreys, as we meet the spirits of the past….
The
tour is a leisurely guided walk spanning approximately 45 minutes,
where you will hear about the rich and fascinating history of our
fair city, with tales touching upon many important events in local
history such as the Iroquois Settlement along Cayuga Lake, Cornell
University and Ithaca College history, silent movie stars, as well
as stories from the ‘bad old days’ of fun and excitement in the city's
West End in the days of the Erie Canal and later. Key figures from
the city’s past will appear along the way to tell their stories.

Location: 401 East State Street, Ithaca, New York
in the Gateway Center, one block east of The Commons,
Hours: Open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 11am
to 5pm.
