Tools of History
The History Center is delighted to announce that we have started our digitizing efforts with 77 images from our Verne Morton glass plate negative collection. Visit www.toolsofhistory.org and click on Collections, where you will find us listed along with several other library and archival collections in the south central part of New York. Each of the digital images from our Verne Morton collection includes information called metadata about the image; photographer, subject, date, etc., along with technical data about the digitizing. For best results, change the size of the image to 12.5%. We thank Dan Kelly, an intern from the Syracuse University School of Information Studies, for doing the scanning and metadata. Thanks to Donna Eschenbrenner, THC Archivist for organizing the project, and thanks to the South Central Research Library Council for the project funding. Dan is also help with mounting a digital collection of our Historic Paintings Unwrapped project that will go into Tools of History as well. Keep checking every so often as we add to our online collections.. |
