Wednesday, September 17th Join us for a History Café at the History Center in Tompkins County, where Mary White will tell us about another side of Ithaca history. She will talk about the "bad old days" of fun and excitement in the city's West End in the days of the Erie Canal and later, and of the successive waves of teamsters, gamblers, cockfights, bootleggers, students and the reformers who tried to keep at least a small lid on things or salvage the damage.
