ITHACA LOVES TEACHERS EVENT

Very Important Teachers and Teachers Pets are invited to tune in for the online premiere of our new video series "Learning to Fly with Tommy." Learning to Fly with Tommy is a five-part video series made for young learners to explore history through the guise of being a student in 1918 at the Thomas Morse School of Aviation. The screening of all five episodes will take a little under an hour. Perfect for an afternoon at home, or in your hotel room cozied up with a discounted Ithaca Loves Teachers beverage and take-out meal! This free learning series is intended for elementary school age classrooms and learning spaces and is a great introduction for history and social studies courses on the 20th century.

Topics covered: Thomas Morse Airplane Company, Wharton Brothers Film Studios (silent film history in Ithaca), WWII, early American astronomy, history of aviation in the early 20th century.

Registration requested, this program will occur over Zoom. Link will be provided after registration. Teachers who would like to watch the program but cannot attend the live screening are invited to register, a recording of the session and all related learning materials and video links will be provided following the program to all registered participants.
