Registration

  • Please include child's first name and age for registration.

    Youth Programs are intended for children ages 3-12. Space in each program is limited and preference will be given to youth participants. Due to event capacity guidelines please have no more than one adult attend per child, and if possible one adult may register and supervise multiple children.

    All registrants will be contacted two days before the program, if you are unable to attend please contact community@thehistorycenter.net so your space may be offered to those on the waitlist.

Registration is closed

All ages (yes kids AND adults!) are invited to learn about historic women from Tompkins County and make prints putting #TompkinsWomen on stylized dollar bills pages! Laura Rowley of Illuminated Press will assist with creating prints and postcards with laser cut blocks using images from the The History Center in Tompkins County archives.

All participants will leave with three high quality greeting cards made with local printer and book artist Laura Rowley of Illuminated Press, locally made Combat Paper by local artist Nate Lewis will be available and other colored paper materials. Participants may also make and take home as many practice prints on scrap paper as they would like. Scrap paper will be provided, but participants may also bring items from home if they'd like to test how they print! 

This program is offered as part of the Breaking Barriers: Women's Lives & Livelihoods exhibit on display at The History Center in Tompkins County from July 2021-February 2022.

WHEN: Saturday August 7th - Session 1 is from 10am-12pm, Session 2 is from 1pm-3pm

WHERE: CAP ArtSpace in the Tompkins Center for History & Culture on the Ithaca Commons - 110 North Tioga St. Ithaca NY 14850.

PRESENTERS: Z Van Nostrand (The History Center), Laura Rowley (Illuminated Press)

This FREE program is open to all ages. Participants must pre-register. Registration is limited to 15 participants per session and all participants (regardless of age) must wear masks for the entire program so this program is accessible for those unable to be vaccinated. All materials will be sanitized between sessions. 

If you have registered but become unable to attend, please contact community@thehistorycenter.net so we can offer your space to others on the waitlist.
