Description

Each Ithaca Kitty is hand sewn by volunteers in Ithaca New York. This toy is modeled on the world-famous "Tabby Cat" design invented by Celia Mattison Smith and Charity Smith in the 1890's in Ithaca NY. Stands 14" tall at the tip of the ears, and base is 7" long. Toys are soft and firm. All Ithaca Kitties sold through The History Center have a re-designed bottom panel showcasing seven toes on each of the front feet. Caesar Grimalkin the cat who inspired the toy was polydactyl, and our archives contain an image of him showcasing seven toes on each of his front paws.
