“Preventorium Building” Historic Marker Unveiling at the Cayuga Nature Center

10:00AM, Saturday, November 20th

1420 Taughannock Boulevard Ithaca NY 14850

The public is invited to hear about the role this building played in supporting  a program run by volunteers and public health authorities to combat Tuberculosis when that disease was endemic in Tompkins County in the first half of the 1900’s; and how the building has been used since.  Join us for short talks, music, refreshments, and warming libations before the unveiling of a historic marker secured by the Town of Ulysses through a grant provided by the William J. Pomeroy Foundation.

Learn about the history of the Cayuga Preventorium from this minute radio spot recorded in 2017: History of the Cayuga Preventorium
